At Nectar Matrimony, we provide the platform, but you provide the caution. In accordance with the laws of Maharashtra and the IT Act of India, we do not verify the claims made by users. Your safety is entirely in your hands.
1. The Golden Rule: Never Send Money
The most important safety rule on this website is: Do not transfer money or share financial details with any member for any reason.
Red Flags: Requests for “urgent medical help,” “visa fees,” “travel expenses,” or “customs clearance for a gift.”
Our Policy: Nectar Matrimony will never ask you for money via a user profile. If someone asks for financial help, report them immediately.
2. Protect Your Digital Identity
Gradual Sharing: Do not put your home address, workplace, or personal phone number in your public profile.
Stay on the Platform: Use our website’s messaging system for as long as possible. Moving to WhatsApp or private calls too early removes the layer of protection we provide through our reporting tools.
Social Media Check: Before meeting, try to verify the person’s social or professional presence (LinkedIn, Facebook) to ensure their identity is consistent.
3. Verification is YOUR Responsibility
Because this website operates on a “User Responsibility” model, you must conduct your own due diligence:
Background Checks: Verify their employment and family background independently.
Ask Questions: If their story changes or seems “too good to be true” (e.g., extremely high salary, constant international travel), be extra cautious.
Video Calls: Before meeting in person, always have multiple video calls to ensure the person matches their profile photos.
4. Meeting Safely in Person
If you decide to meet a match:
Public Places Only: Meet in a well-lit, crowded public place (e.g., a mall or a well-known cafe in Mumbai).
Family Involvement: Inform at least one family member or close friend about where you are going, who you are meeting, and what time you expect to be back.
Transportation: Always arrange your own transport. Do not let a stranger pick you up or drop you home on the first few meetings.
5. Reporting and Blocking
If you experience harassment, encounter a fake profile, or see obscene material:
Block the User: Use the built-in block feature to stop communication.
Report to Admin: Contact our Grievance Officer immediately. Under the laws of Maharashtra, we cooperate with law enforcement for any reported criminal activity or identity theft.
